Preparing meterial for editing

Preparing meterial for editing

For the very first begining on the editing process we have to prepare ourselve by get our footage and sound into different foder and named it e.g. using date of the footage when it shoot, sound, effect. This is to make a good organisesation; it's will make the editing process easier and shorten time because you know where sound, footage different date of footage and effect are exactly.

On the very first start we have to logged on the ''mediac'' or ''mediad'' home screen service on mac computer, (Depending on where your tutor want this product to be done on.)

Then we have to tranfer our files from the memories stick, SD card etc into MacHD so when we are using Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 it's able to find/access your footages/files.
This can be done by open up the SD card/ memories stick etc that you used while filming to store you footage (usually came up with CAM_SD). Next it'swill come up with DCIM foder, MISc and Private, right click on private then copy private.
After we did that then you press it on whatever foder you want to save your project in, (this involved create a new foder), in this case we have to access movies foder to creates our foder.

To get to to Movies foder you have to follow the path on the left hand side abouve the CAM_SD's foder.

Then created a foder and name it whatever you would remember as your project. Next you go in that foder and past the files that you did the private coppies from the CAM_SD foder (first it will came up with AVCHD) and rename it what ever you want but in my case I used the date.

After you did this you can come back with the new footage that haven't been restored in different day or go through different SD card or memories stick. Then do the same step by step then remane it in what ever you and your team would remember (I used date).

Video editing program Adobe Premiere Pro CS6
This is the program that we used to editing the meterial, this program is an video editing solfware used of time line bassis. Launched in 2003 and ahd contunue improved, more technique have been edit to this program. This program  is one of the well known editing program it' also used by the BBC. Rarely This program wouldn't support certain feature another program will be needed.

After we opened up this program and go on ''new project'' (if you already got a project saved then click open project) it's will leed us to a box which give us choices on the type on video, audio, capture and name of the project. there is a picture of the important setting from the box (you must to get those right on depending on the used of the project.)''

Then click ''OK'' which will leedyou to the next box which will give you a list and option of how you wanted to save to files which depending on what you wanted to used in my case I used AVCHD 1080i25 (50i). Then give your sequean a name if you like or you can just leave it blank. Next if you click ''OK''  it wll took you to the empty editing timline.

To import the footage, on the bottom left on the conner if the the Premiere Pro's progame page space was a project area which call the 'sequean 01' and also areas call 'bins'. Doubble clicks on the areas will took you to the document then you have to find your files, click on it then click 'import'or you can do it the more formal way which is click ''File'' on the top bar of the program then click 'import'.

If you clicked the foder the program will tell you which file are not import because there are not video files by the new box that poped up within the names of ' File Import Failure'. it's look like virus box but dont worry it's not, gohead and click 'OK'.

Below there is a picture of when you uploaded the 'bin'.
on the bottom left conner of this picture there is an ''icon view'' and ''list view'' whic is very used ful at times

After you have set and prepare all of the footage and did everything in order, you are now ready to edit the project using time line and basic information you could find in the website book etc.  The folders in Premiere Pro are not the real footage. The real footage is stored in the folder on the hard drive. The Premiere Pro folders only contain instrctions about where the program goes to get the footage. So if you try to import footage straight from an SD card and then take the card ut, Premiere Pro will show question marks.
